The Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority honored the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) in recognition of its active participation in the Liwa Date Festival 2025 and its efforts to raise public awareness about the importance of conserving water and electricity, while promoting sustainability values across the community.

H.E. Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority, presented the recognition award to H.E. Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi, DoE Undersecretary, during the festival’s closing ceremony held in Liwa, Al Dhafra Region. The event was attended by Obaid Khalfan Al Mazrouei, Executive Director of the Festivals and Events Sector at the authority; along with senior officials and representatives from participating government entities.

H.E. Eng. Ahmed Mohammed Al Rumaithi expressed his gratitude to the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority for the honor, commending its efforts in organizing cultural events that strengthen national identity and raise awareness of the UAE’s heritage and values.

He also reaffirmed the DoE’s commitment to participating in national and cultural events that honor Emirati heritage, as part of its broader mission to foster a culture of sustainability, promote the efficient use of energy and water resources, and support their long-term conservation of these resources for future generations.

The DoE stand attracted significant visitor engagement, offering an immersive awareness experience that blended traditional Emirati themes with modern interactive technologies. Inspired by the local environment, the pavilion featured heritage elements such as palm trees and a traditional majlis, visually reflecting the values of the ancestors and their enduring commitment to resource preservation and sustainability.
