Awaidha Murshed Ali Al Marar

H.E. Al Marar is a member of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council and serves as the Chairman of the Department of Energy and is a Board Member in the Supreme Petroleum Council in Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Development Holding Company, Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Nawah Energy Company, and Barakah One Company. In addition, H.E. is a member of several committees in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, such as the Executive Committee of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation and the Nawah Energy Company.

H.E. Al Marar holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Arizona (USA) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from UAE University’s College of Business and Economics.

The development of the UAE energy sector is pivotal in establishing our country as a regional and international leader in the diversification and adoption of clean and renewable energy, and for ensuring that our citizens continue to enjoy a high standard of living.

Our insightful and visionary leaders and governing bodies have been fundamental in creating innovative and inspirational initiatives that will enable us to achieve sustainability within the energy sector.

The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy is proud to play a leading role in establishing Abu Dhabi as a pioneer in the use of clean and renewable energy and in driving even greater levels of energy efficiency across the industry.


Eng. Mohammed
Bin Jarsh

H.E. Eng. Mohammed bin Jarsh has served as the Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi Transmission & Despatch Company (TRANSCO) and of the Abu Dhabi Electricity Authority (ADWEA). He has also served as Chairman of Fujairah Asia Power Company.


In recent years, Abu Dhabi has cemented its position as a leader in the global energy sector and as a forward-thinking and conscientious contributor to energy production and consumption. Our aim is to maintain this position and to promote sustainability in order to accelerate economic growth, while fulfilling the long-term vision of the emirate and meeting the needs of future generations.


In addition, H.E. Al Falasi is a member of Crisis and Disaster Recovery Team in Abu Dhabi, and a member of various committees in the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority and its Group Companies (formerly), such as the Business Continuity and Crisis Management and the Treated Water Committee.

H.E. Al Falsai holds a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Colorado, in Denver, USA, 1995.
